Dear Friends,
It is with deep sadness and a very heavy heart that I bring news of the
passing of a great man. Norm Stilson died Saturday evening. His big
loving heart gave out, because he had used it too much. Norm was the
shelter "dad" director of the Greater Chicago Ferret Association, aka
GCFA. He was a great inspiration for so many people that had their
lives touched by his compassion for humans, animals and the sanctity
of life.
We all know he was greeted as he crossed the bridge by the thousands
of ferrets he had at one time cared for and held in his arms. The GCFA
shelter has taken in and cared for over 5,300 ferrets since 1987. Many
of these ferrets came in too old or too sick to be adopted, but they
had a home at the shelter with Norm watching over each and every one
of them as their loving shelter dad. He was an amazing man.
The ferret community has truly suffered an incredible loss.
Funeral arrangements can be found on our website www.GCFA.com.
