My ferrets do not like any kind of hairball remedy except what I make.
I take a jar of plain straight petroleum jelly (big size) and scoop out
about 1/3 off the top, to make room for my additions (put extra in a
baby jar or jar for later).

To the jelly I add about 1/3 tube of Petromalt, Laxatone, a good
helping of Ferretone and about 1/3 tube of Ferrevite and mix it all
together. They all love it! You may have to play around with it to
get it to the right consistency that they like! I think they just do
not like the consistency of the Petromalt.

On another note, I picked my 2 DMK kids up and adopted them the day
or before Thanksgiving as I wanted them home for Thanksgiving. What
wonderful, happy boys they are! Michele of South Shore Ferret Care did
a tremendous job working with all the DMK kids they took in and has
the battle scars to prove it. They are Ferretone whores but now get it
occasionally for a treat, mainly when they come running to their names.
One would never know they came from such horrific conditions as they
seem to be so well adjusted. I was shocked that these two kids, Twitch
and Uno, both use the poopie pan and have yet to miss! On Thanksgiving
day, we had the family and friends over and my sister Rose, came over
and wanted to play with them a bit. She had them out in the ferret room
but a poopie pan had not been placed there as of yet, the pan is in
there Midwest playpen, which was left half open at the top. Would you
believe one of them crawled back over into the playpen to poop and then
came back out!!!

My sister had scooped their poopie pan completely before leaving that
room and right there when we went to check on them about half an hour
or so later, was a fresh ferret poop! Unbelievable but true! Twitch
gives kisses and is not one to be held for long. On the other hand Uno
loves to be held but is not one for kisses. By the way, how Uno got his
name is quite funny actually. I thought he was named after pizza but
come to find out, when having surgery to be neutered, he only had one
testicle and the vet had to go in to get the other one!
