Subject:
ferret blood values conversion help

I have had a lot of bloodwork done on my ferrets recently so I am
trying to educate myself about what it all means.

I live in Canada. I can get American normal blood values for ferrets
easily on the internet, but can not find a Canadian version.

I know how to convert for glucose, but what about all the rest? Does
anyone have Canadian blood values for a ferret or know how to convert?

The reason I am asking is the glucose range for example at my vet, is
set for 5.22 - 11.50 Canadian. The proper blood value according to all
the info on the internet would be 4.95 - 6.88. Just makes me wonder
about the others.

I am going to talk to my vets about this as well, but I could really
use your help. The vets I have are fine. Unfortunately where I live,
there are not a whole lot of ferrets, so their experience is limited.
[I will make a 4 hour drive to a city for surgeries etc when need be]

I always depend on the internet and my fellow FMLers for help. Even my
vet values your advice and help. More than once he has sent me home
with the following words " You do your homework and I'll do mine."

As always,I really appreciate your help and support.

Liz
