Potluck Lunch! We will start off the day with a potluck picnic lunch.
The shelter will provide the main course (usually subs), drinks
(water/pop) and supplies (plates, napkins, cups, utensils). Anyone
who wants to come to the picnic is asked to bring a dish to share.

Fun Matches! After lunch there will be some fun games for the ferrets
to play, which includes ribbons & trophies. Tube Race, Plant Digger,
Paper Bag Escape, etc. - entry fees are $1 per ferret, per game. If
the tube race is held it will be $10 for all your ferrets and you get
to keep the clear 20' tube (a $15 value).

Cool Raffle Prizes! The raffle is the biggest fundraiser for the
shelter and if you would like to donate any items, please contact Mary.

IMPORTANT DETAILS: All ferrets wishing to attend the frolic *must* have
a negative Aleutian Disease Virus (ADV) test dated between March 26th
and Sept 26th. We accept CEP via Blue Cross Animal Hospital or Avecon
ELISA test (send-in saliva only). Check out www.ferretadv.com to learn
more about ADV and testing. Please contact the shelter with any
questions and for help with getting your ferrets tested.

Vaccinations can save your ferrets life! Due to being in a public
venue, ferrets must be vaccinated for rabies (Imrab-3 ONLY) between
Sept 28th, 2006 and Sept 28th, 2007. Ferrets must have been vaccinated
for canine distemper in the last 3 years (Sept 28, 2004 - Sept 28,
2007) with either Fervac-D by United, Purevax by Merial or Galaxy-D
by Schering-Plough.

Vaccination records must include: Vet signature, vaccine name (Ferret
Distemper or Rabies is NOT ACCEPTABLE) and date given. Label and owner
signature are acceptable for canine distemper vaccines that are given
by owner. Rabies MUST be given by a vet.

If your ferret can no longer be vaccinated due to a severe vaccine
reaction, then a letter from your vet stating the reason why, including
their last vaccine information (date, signature, brand name), will be
accepted.

Interested in helping in some way? The frolic has sponsorship
opportunities (lunch, ribbons/trophies, park/pavilion, etc.). We also
need help setting up the morning of the event, so if anyone would
like to show up around 11am to help move picnic tables and set up the
raffle, please let me know to expect you :)

If anyone has any questions, please don't hesitate to ask!

Mary
