I used to use carpeting in my cages on the wire floors and ramps but
stopped doing that after seeing a show on television showing how toxic
fumes coming from carpeting can make you real sick and people had to
remove the carpeting from their homes.

Also for natural "cures" for ants, DIY network television channel has
FYI facts on their shows that do show how to naturally, keep ants away.
I believe one was growing peppermint around the foundation of the house
or you could use diatomaceous earth. I do not know if this is used
indoors or out. I did find this site on the web which sells the
diatomaceous earth (3 kinds) which does kill bugs and other natural
items that are eath friendly and if you do a web search you can find
all the natural ways to kill ants and bugs naturally.
