It was a beautiful day at the Bridge. SaraFerret was waiting (note in
paw) for the fuzzy to cross the bridge. A butterscotch fuzzy made his
way slowly across. At de entrance he started chattering to me even
without me introducing myself.
Hi, I am Scooby and I belonged to Mommy Sue. What a great Mommy she
was. She held me all the time. She told me all about this place and
even who I would meet. You are SaraFerret, aren't you. I have to be
sure. I want to make sure I am in the right place. I don't want to
be at the rabbit place or something.
I told him, Scooby, you are at de Rainbow Bridge for fuzzies. Your
forever journey is over. Here you will have no more pain or suffering.
No messy litter pans, you will run free on green grass, have lotsa food
and water and treats, lotsa friends and family, did I mention fun and
games.
Den de little fuzzy looked down at himself and said, Uh SaraFerret,
how can I run free when I have trouble walking and moving. POOF! And
in dat instant, Scooby could move and he was so surprised dat he began
to bounce and dance and den he fell over himself and laughed. And den
he spoke up again and said, Mommy said something about me getting some
wings. What are wings?
I pointed to the wings on my shoulders and showed him how dey worked
by flying and WOWSIE! was he impressed. Scooby was just beside himself
with happiness.
So off we went down de garden path toward de Wing House where de wings
were stored. We went inside and on de counter was a big box marked
"SCOOBY". He opened de box and tooked out de wings. I helped him put
dem on and adjusted his halo. He ran to de big vanity mirror and gazed
at his reflection: for the first time in a long time, he could see his
body stand straight and tall, his legs were working, his fur as fluffy
as in the days of his youth. He turned to me and said, Gee I wish Mommy
could see me now. Den I gots an idea.
We headed down de path toward de Misting Pond. We sat down beside de
cool clear water and with one swish we saw Mommy Sue appear. Scooby
started waving and dooking with all of his might and then he saw her
look up toward the sky and smile. Hey Mommy, look I have wings now, I
can fly, I feel great, I have fur all over. Thank you for taking care
of me. Thank you for loving me. I love you. Then he started throwing
hugs, kisses, and promises and wrapped dem with his love and laid dem
on a nearby shooting star which was headed toward your house. And with
another swish de vision was gone.
As we turned away from dere, we saw a group of fuzzies. Dey all ran up
to him with a big banner which read "WELCOME TO THE BRIDGE SCOOBY". He
recognized some of dem. Dey had come to de bridge before him from Mommy
Sue's. What a great welcome for him. He now knew that he had friends
here. He was not alone. De group went toward dere cottage where a party
was planned. And I headed back toward de bridge entrance as another
fuzzy was getting ready to cross.
So ended another greeting at de Rainbow Bridge.
Loveys and hugs,
SaraFerret, bridgegreeter
