A Post I read from a couple of days ago mentioned using Boric Acid to
get rid of ants... Boric Acid is poisonous & should NOT be used around
animals! If they get it on there feet or fur they can accidentally
ingest it by licking. I don't know HOW toxic it is in ferrets, but I
would certainly not risk it.

We find that ant traps work very well. They too are poisonous, but they
are "self-contained" so we put them under a "protective cover" to keep
them out of the ferrets reach. We have a metal "milk crate" where we
keep papers, so we make sure it too heavy for the ferret to move & then
put the ant trap underneath. Ants can get into tiny places & have no
problem crawling through the carpet to get under the crate, but the
ferret is safe. If the ants are coming in through a closet or cabinent
that you can close securely, this would be an ideal place - just make
sure that your animals NEVER have access. Ant traps are sold in most
grocery stores & I purchased my last package at Ace Hardware.

Please NEVER use Boric Acid powder around ANY animal (or children,
either)!
