Rabid raccoon found in Yorktown

A raccoon found at Hilltop Hanover Farm in Yorktown has tested positive
for rabies and anyone who had contact with the animal should call the
Westchester County Health Department.
The raccoon, which was sick and injured, was found March 7 in a barn
on the property. It was picked up by health department workers.
Anyone who was bitten by the raccoon or had contact with its saliva
may need rabies vaccinations, according to the health department.
