Hello Melanee --

Did Victoria at the Bear Creek Animal Clinic reach you yesterday?
She was going to give you a recommendation for me as a good animal
caretaker, and in particular, a good ferret caretaker!

Maybe you know I have been planning to move to Ethiopia with all 8 of
my ferrets plus my cats and dogs. Some time aqgo -- a year? -- you gave
me advice on integrating new ferrets into my gang, and the last thing
you said was that when they began sleeping together the problem was
essentially solved -- thoug occasionally at the start of this phase,
the perp (and the victim?) would wake up next to each other and iwould
hear some BEEP!S saying What I slept next to You??

Well I got evryting adjusted back then, but the last ferret I
introduced drew the ire of Philliipe and he never stopped beating the
little girl up. I attacjed her in her sleep even. Some times she would
have bad dreams when she was crying out the way she cried onbeing
attacked. She did not play freelly in their kitchen pen (rached by
drainage tube fromtheir indoor cage), but hung oput at the end of the
tunnel where she could be protected. She wan't utterly cowed, and would
fight back from tha position, but her life certainly was compromised.

So a couple of weeks ago I decided Iwould not take that problem to
Ethiopia, and asked my wonderful vet for advice. She suggested Melanee
and her shelter. I was embarassed and ashamed that I had not been able
to solve my problem one way or another, and now I was one of THEM who
give their ferrets up to a shelter... Alixce said no, that inthese
circomstanxcesa, it was understandable, and that she would wrute me a
letter of recommendation ifI liked. That was a relief, and I planned
to go to Eugene w/ little Philllipe this weekend (today). But I forgot
to get the letter, Alice went on vacation, and I got sidewallled by my
medical issues.+

I Victoria, Alice's main support, and a terrfic person at the vets,
saaid she would call you if she could find your phone number.

WELL! last night when I went to clean the ferret litter boxes, WHAT did
I see, but all the ferrets in a heap, with Lucy and Phillipe curled
around each other.

Phillipe has ESP too. He must have decided to shape up so he would not
have to ship out

So Phillipe is going to aAfrica with everybody else -- and I wil not be
coming to Eugene.
