I am very happy to announce that all of the re-surrenders have been
placed in forever homes or have been transported to shelters. There
are no more McKids in Lynx, Ohio!!!! We are, officially, done with the
transportation and re-homing (sheltering) of the Mckay ferrets.

To all of those people that found room in their hearts and homes for
one more kid -- we thank you from the bottom of our hearts. None of
this would have been possible without the shelters and individuals that
stepped forward to help. I can't tell you how appreciative we are of
what you all did -- without us having to even ask for it!!! I have met
so many wonderful people along this journey -- people that I am proud
to call friends! Cindy, Renee and I have always been strong advocates
for the ferrets and that's why we stuck with the rescue through thick
and thin. We were always in it for the kids because they deserved so
much better than what they had.

This rescue might have not run as smoothly as it should have -- but
I can tell you one thing with certainty -- I have learned so many
valuable lessons from this rescue that I will be locked and loaded for
bear when (or crossing my fingers "if") the next time a large scale
rescue happens. There's nothing more valuable than hands on experience
and since the ferret world has never experienced a rescue of this size
before, we basically cut our teeth on this one.

So finally and most deservedly so, Cindy, Renee and I are taking a long
awaited break and turning our attention back to catching up on our
personal lives and some rescue paperwork.

Just a suggestion for the giving tree next year .....Kris, why don't
you just make a page for each shelter with one or two pictures of the
shelter and a short bio? You can have an allotment for each -- say, 15
people per shelter. Does that make it easier for you?

Lisa
