I am here in Orlando at the largest vet conference in North America.
There are more than 14,000 people at the conference, and you should see
the vendors! I've already spent more money on new books than I care to
admit, and I am still eyeing one or two others that have my attention.
I've made several of my vet friends giggle as I go to each vendor,
listen patiently to their pitch, and then chide them for not making the
product for ferrets. Well, maybe not chide them, but I have made a lot
of ferret suggestions.

There have been a number of excellent lectures on ferrets and I have
heard some very interesting and promising stuff. The first talk I
did was on rabbit natural history and care, and it went pretty good,
even though my first joke was not appreciated. Tuesday I'll give
presentations on ferret diet and the effects of kibble on teeth (with
so much emperical data that it would choke a rotund kibble cooker),
and on ferret natural history and domestication. On Wednesday I give
a talk on enrichment. Tomorrow, ferret presentations will take place
all day, so I'll either be talking or listening.

I see nothing but good things here; vets are really concerned about
ferrets and want to learn more. It is very encouraging.

I've returned emails to all that have asked me to stop. I did
accidentally delete an email from my skunk lady friend and she needs
to write me back asap. I was on a PC loaner when I deleted the mail
and couldn't get it back.

Again, I want to thank all those who send messages after my mom's
death. I'll write my thank yous when I return home.
