Last year my family lost a ferret to ADV. The whole story was posted
here and I was very lucky to have had one respondee who told me that
she too has an ADV ferret home and offered me her home to place my 2
ADV+ ferrets. I let her know at the time that we loved them dearly,
and since there were still the 2, that it would be okay to keep them
with us, but I promised that I would be in touch when the time came
that there was only one.

As I write this, Sally, our 1st little girl is crossing the rainbow
bridge. She is dying as a senior somewhere between 5-7years old, and
never shown signs of her ADV. She is not in pain, but she is sleeping
it out, and the vets and the experts and ferret friends of ours have
all suggested that we let her pass comfortably in her own home. We
are minutes to hours away from saying our forever goodbyes.

She will leave behind her sister Aza who is 3 years old. They have
shared 2 beautiful years with one another. When we lost Aza's brother
in spring of 06, we discovered that we were an ADV home. Aza and Neelix
were adopted from an animal shelter in South Carolina, and re adopted
by us after their new owner discovered that she was extremely allergic
to them. Unknowingly we brought home the pair and introduced them to
our little Sally after having them inspected and microchipped by the
vet.

Sally had lived a life of solitude and was so happy to have them in
her life. From the start they all played and dooked happily.

Aza is still extrodinarily active, loving and beautifu (she is a DEW
and I have never seen one more beautiful). Her only downfall is that
she is a carrier.

Aza has never lived without another ferret. She loves friends (although
once we found she was positive her interaction with friends ceased
except her sister Sally) and playmates.

I know that she will be sad without a friend. If you are that home that
contacted me before, or if you are a new person who would like to speak
to me about Aza, please email me. Were it not for our concern for her
loneliness which she has already begun to exhibit, we would not look
to place her.

If you have an ADV+ ferret that you feel would do well with her, we
will adopt from you if you would rather.

Its just so important for our family and Aza that she continue to
lead a life that makes her happy. We love our pets so much.
