Yesterday, Anne in Chicago asked of the black plastic ferret tubing
that some folks are using:

And just how are the tubes attached to the ceiling? I've been thinking
about this (Yes, all ferret owners are crazy) but have not been able
to figure out how to do this. And how do Ping & Puma get up there?

Go to the "PVC Fitting" section of Home Depot. This is generally right
across the aisle from "Drainage Solutions", where you buy the black
tubing. There for a dollar a pop they have four inch diameter J-hooks.
The hooks do look just like capital letter J's, with a nail in the
very tip top of the letter. The pipe snugs into the curve of the J and
hangs. It weighs very little, so this is not a big tearer up of walls.
Nail your J right up next to the ceiling,(the nail is included, it is
not a big monster) and let it hang with it's back against the wall.
Snug the pipe into the curve. I can send folks a picture if they wonder
what the finished product looks like.

Make sure you have the *four inch* diameter J hooks if you are using
four inch diameter tubing! If the hooks are not in stock, ask, and
they will order up a replacement box right quick.

Ping and Puma run straight up the tubing coming from the side of their
overnight cage because it is ridged, and gives them something to put
their paws on. They go up like rockets, no problem.
