Happy Christmas again everyone! My fuzzies have traveled with me from
New Mexico to Chicago, Illinois, Oklahoma City, OK - Grand Rapids
Michigan, Sydney Ohio and Overland Park, KS, Flagstaff AZ, San Diego CA
and a few other "minor" NM trips. My job as a telecommunications
engineer, used to find me traveling quite frequently, outstate. And
where hither Mommy went, so ferrets followed. They seemed to adapt very
well, wherever we went, and as long as I was there, they were fine!!
Car rides were a breeze, but the rest stops were the best!!! Imagine if
you will, a bright sunny day........nice SUMMER day......stopping at a
rest area, where the only animal being walked that you saw, was a dog,
and numerous little children. Now imagine what impact it made when I
climb outta my car with two ferrets on a leash! All attention drifted
directly to us, and all children seemed to hone in on the "ferret high
frequency sonar sounds". I never talked, nor educated on ferret lore,
more to strangers in my life than I did when I was traveling with my
dynamic duo. Now that is just the "domestic travel scene". I very
successfully smuggled them into a restraunt or two, into the library (I
almost got caught when Laina stuck her nose outta my purse), to all pet
stores and our local grocery store. I guess you could say they travel
(ed) more than my own human kids do! Wherever we were discovered,
people were more curious than they were appalled at my audacity of
bringing them to all these "nonpet" places! They even went to a bowling
alley with me once!
Kim and Her Army of Idiots
Lord, help me to be grateful for what I have, and not greedy for what I
want.....
