Hello all
This is soren_lafay some may know me... I have posted on here before.  I
ended up giving my little guy his own email just because I was getting
too much stuff in my own.
 
Anyway... Koda is 2 1/2 now.  When I first got him I had a few problems
potty training him but after a while he got the hang of it.  With the
occasional pottying outside of the box.  Well now we are about 2 1/2
years later and he doesnt want to use it at all... We recently just moved
and he was staying with one of my mom's friends until my fiancee and I
got settled in.  We got him back the first week and a half of Aug.  He
had been away from us from June to July with my mom.  Then in July her
friend took him till Aug.  When we got him back he was a little skinner
than normal.  He has gotten most of his weight back already.  You can
tell he didnt like the ferret food that she was feeding him.  I have him
back on cat food.  Yes I do know that ferret food is better but I think
this cat food is better than the ferret food that she was feeding him
since he was loosing weight.  Its Maxximum Nutrition Kitten Food.  So I
did up him to better stuff after I had messaged on here about what food
I should be feeding him.  But anyway.
 
When we got him back he was using his litter box.  For the most part.  I
was hoping that once a day cleaning would be enough so then I could just
clean it when I got home from work.  Well that didnt work out.  He has
one of those corner litter pans.  So then I tried to start cleaning it
when I got home from work and before I went to bed.  that helped a little
but there would still be a couple of accidents by the time I got home
from work.  So then I bought him another litter pan.  Its really a dish
tub thing.  He used to have a litter box like that where we used to live.
But all he wants to do is sleep in it.  He has a home made hammock and
some sample rugs from Wal Mart.  I use Feline Fresh, its pellet wood
shavings for the most part.  wood shavings that you buy at Wal Mart, says
usable for ferrets, and news paper pellets for his litter.  And the last
time he pottyed outside his box I put some of the litter over it and then
scooped it up and put it in the box.  He still refuses to use the box.
The one day he was even sleeping in it with the poop.  and another thing
is that his pee smells really bad.
 
We have a 2 bed room town house so the BIGGER room is his and the
computer room combind.  and he is really making it smell in here just
with his pee smelling so bad.  He does try to dig in the litter in the
boxes though and manages to get it all over once in a while.
