I was sitting around, watching the fuzzies frolic and thinking about what
I could do to help our shelters. I don't have any shelters in my area
(at least that I know of) and not a lot of spare time to volunteer even
if there was. What else can I do?? I don't have a lot of money, but I
figured I could spare a weaselly--I mean measly--$25 a month to go to a
needy shelter. Should I just pick a shelter at random? No, that's too
easy. I have decided, starting this September, that I will gather the
names of those needy shelters and put them in a hammy. The 25th of each
month I will have 1 of my fuzzies pick a name out of said hammy, and once
I have the retrieved that name from under the dresser or bed or where
ever the fuzz butts hid it, that lucky shelter will receive a whopping
$25 check (with ferrets on it, of course) to do with as they please.
That's a great idea!!
Should I start copying the shelter list off the net today?? I wonder.
Naw--I'll have those needy shelters do a little work for the possibility
of the "weasel winnings".
If you run a shelter, or know someone who does who would be interested
in my mini-lottery, please e-mail your shelter info to me asap. If you
prefer snail-mail and would like to send me a little more info about
your shelter, the mailling address is:
Amy Fischer
80 Waterview Pkwy
Hamburg, NY 14075
Winners will only be allowed 1 prize in a 6 month period, but I will be
keeping track of all those winners, so your shelter will be back in the
running after that 6mo time frame.
Please note-this idea is not copyrighted and anyone wishing to do the
same kind of thing themselves is more than encouraged to :) Let's help
those fuzzies and their diligent shelter workers. They all need our
support!! Thanks for your time.
