Hmmm, the question is, where have they NOT been? My ferrets travel with
me and those who know me tell you that I move around a lot for a single
mom not in the military!

I acquired my first ferret, Sammie, in Arkansas. He went to the park
with us and used to run around without a leash. This boy was a swimmer
and actually swam about half a block in the lake one time before I knew
he could drown because that was TOO FAR ! He also wentflying in a small
Cessna with me while I was working on my pilot's license.

Li' girl, ferret number 2 and Smokey, #3, went to Washington DC and had
their pics taken on the Roosevelt memorial. They were illegal there and
I didn't realize it then. They were not allowed to be in the room with
the FBI agents, but met them. Like Bele (Linda Iroff's ferret), Li'l
Girl got to fly on a plane.

My favorite story, though, is about our trip to a Wal-Kart near
Lafayette, LA. I was driving north and needed to get some water for
them. It was summer in south LA and THAT is HOT! I couldn't leave them
in the car - even for a few minutes. So, I loaded them into a shopping
cart (leashes on, no carrier) and headed for the door. The greeter
squealed, You can't bring those in here! When she finally calmed down,
I explained to her that I had broken their water dish and just needed
to go buy a new dish and some water and I would be through. I asked if
she would watch them while I went to do it! lol She said she would when
she realized how cute they were. I ran through the store tograb the two
items and waited what seemed an eternitty to pay. When I got to the
lady, she was surrounded by children and adults and was faithfully
reciting all the info I had shared with her about ferrets! They hated
to see us go and invited us back anytime.

What surprises me is all of the really STUPID things I did as a new
feret owner! I took them places they could have been confiscated. Had I
only known! Please, while it is fun to take them places, check to be
sure your ferrets will be safe. the worlk has changed a lot - even in
the past few years!

It's amazing how much can be accomplished if nobody cares who gets the
credit!
