Dear Ferret and Dog Folks-
I wanted to thank everyone for the personal advice and websites you sent
me regarding the Noble Allis Chompers. I have a game plan now, and she
and I have some work to do. The FML is such a *marvelous* resource!
Allis is the only dog I have ever shared my life with, and I suspect
that she is extremely spoiled. However, her Border Collieness allows her
to pull it off without
it being an 'in your face' ugly problem, as it is with so many spoiled
dogs. (Except when you put her on a leash!) If you have never met a
Border Collie, (laughing) be advised, they are a whole 'nother thing
altogether. They are *so* smart. I will never forget the day I brought
her home. She was almost full grown, but hadn't entirely grown into her
paws. We were living in a two story farmhouse in CT. She went all around
the house, room by room, calmly and determinedly looking out every
window. Standing on beds, up on her back feet, whatever it took.
Politely asking for a boost up with her eyes on one or two occasions.
Was she anticipating an invasion, and wanting to know what the fields of
fire were? Was this another way of learning the extent of her territory?
I will never know. But the invasion did come.
Ferrets.
