I am a reader of this newsletter for a few months now, but I have never
posted before. This is in regards to the Sony fellow who brutally
abused animals to "relieve stress".

This is not YouTube's fault, people. It is an anonymous video hosting
website where any Tom, Dick, or Harry can upload videos of their
playful dog, or that funny thing that that guy did. In this respect, it
is darn near impossible for every single video to be checked before
decided "consumable" by the public. And even then, who is to say what
is hands-off and what is acceptable? This act of choosing some videos
over others because of content is called "Censorship". Censorship is
not one of the infinitely numerous things found on the internet, this
is where anyone can express themselves anyway they want, just like we
are doing right now.

Noone likes to be censored. Some are saying we should flood YouTube
with letters to stop allowing such horrible videos on their website,
but this is not fair to anyone. The man did not do what he did because
he wanted to show off his sucker-punches, he knew what he was doing was
illegal. He was stressed, and definably made some bad decisions. In
fact, YouTube helped him get caught, considering he was stupid enough
to post illegal content on one of the most popular websites of my time.

I'm not saying I approve of this man and his actions, the sound of
the ferret made me sick, and this is coming from a guy who has seen
the annals of the internet and more. I just want to say that if you
disagree with what the man did, tell people about it. Make them aware
that this kind of thing happens. The more that know, the more that can
help stop this (like the people who turned this guy in.)

E-mailing the Japanese embassy whoever may be a better idea. YouTube
is just going to tell you to fob off with a form letter anyways.
