Well, we picked up another couple of rescues- a beautiful cinnimon
boy and a gorgeous sable girl- the boy was starving and the girl is
essentially blind.
Nasty cage- rusted and disgusting- full of everything imaginable. The
people we got them from live in a very nice house with very nice cars-
they are not starving and their house is not full of feces- I imagine
they also see doctors when it is appropriate.
We had them for two days- the boy was gobbling food- I was so very
hopeful- the vet said he should do okay- guardedly, but he was
definitly salvageable.
Then he crashed- began choking and gagging and vomiting and not keeping
anything down- we spent many hours at the vet- we were there for three
more days- every time they opened we were waiting- he got worse and
worse- despite everything done for him. It turns out it was Mega-E.
The very worse part is that he was microchipped and had had a
spleenectomy- I tracked down the chip and it came from a shelter about
an hour from me- he had been dumped multiple times already- the shelter
had done the surgery and chipped him.
I apoligised to him as I put him down- he was trying so very hard to
live and he was such a cheerful little guy.
His sister is doing well- she navigates by odor around the house and I
think we have a home waiting for her-
I do have a question for anyone who might know- My little cinamon guy
was tattooed on his right ear with a teal line staight accross. I don't
know of any farm that uses this tattoo, I am assuming it is a small
time breeder somewhere close here, but maybe someone knows?
Thanks-
Gerri
