I had a cat, JC, who used to love to look at herself in the mirror when
I held her up in front of one. She'd look at me, she'd flip her tail
around & watch it, & she'd look herself in the face. If you turned your
back on the mirror, she'd adjust her posture so she could continue
looking at herself.

My cat Chat sees herself in the mirror, but doesn't seem to care less.
Apparently, she's not a vain as JC was.

I can't even get any of my ferrets to look in the general *direction*
of a mirror, even when I hold them right in front of it. They remind
me of Lisa Lupner from the old days of SNL.
