Wow are we throwing Lori under the bus.

Let us NOT divide but seek the answers with patients.

I have read the arguments of everyone and would like to comment here.
While I agree the story of this rescue would be interesting to know,
why does is matter so much? The ferrets are out of that place and who
could ask for more. This was all FOR THE FERRETS!

The accounting I can see where folks would ask why, but do the math.
Even if it was around 500 ferrets $33,000 is really only about $66 for
each ferret. Was that to much? Why was that needed? Well as you all say
we don't know the entire story yet. So let's not be so very quick to
throw the IRS into the mix and make subtle threats. Yes, I feel as
though this is what they are. Do you not believe that Lori has an
accountant or someone took keep track of those things? If she can pull
of the biggest rescue in history a little thing like accounting would,
I feel, be taken care of as I am sure she expected these questions.

I will also say this. Our shelter took in some of these ferrets. I
have spent not one dime for them. My time and flesh yes but NO cash.
EVERYTHING was provided. Well I take that back before they arrived I
did make a purchase for a pen, ferret tone, gloves, ferret vite and so
on. And I did have to rent a car to go get them. But the enterprise
folks gave me a GREAT deal. So I spent about $150 in total. I located a
vet to do all the work with them. He agreed to raise the money for his
expenses. A donation to the vet was made for $500 so that was taken
care of. I even had a back up vet. When I realized that I would need
much more bedding I asked the ferret community and received every bit I
needed. Then some. When I put the plea out for rubber toys I received
them. I asked and I received.

I also received a call regarding my vet bills. I am not exactly sure
who called but I believe it was someone form the SOS. I could be wrong.
Anyhow this person wanted to know if I needed any help with my vet
bills. She explained that they could help me with the alterations. I
said I did not need any help as I had all I needed as far as vet care.

So our shelter was helped out because I asked for the help. I am very
happy to report I have only 3 babies left.

If you feel Lori is wrong in asking for more money wait then for the
answers you seek. I am sure Lori will have good reason for everything
she has done and is doing.

Let's just breathe. We as a ferret community came together like nothing
I have seen before save 911. We are a strong group together. Let's not
divide now.
