Ok gang, got another stumper.....one of my ferrets has a semi-new
EXTREMELY annoying habit & I am at my wits end, so I come to all of
you...one of my ferrets has been digging outside of both bedroom doors
in my house CONSTANTLY! He started this a couple months ago,
concentrating mainly on my son's door. To the point that the carpet was
becomming completely ruined, so I tacked down a plastic carpet runner
(& I put him in 10 minute time out in the carrier every time he starts
up.) For a while he stopped doing it completely. Now he scratches on
the door itself, and is concentrating 85% of the time on my bedroom
door. Again, I've been putting him in time out in the carrier 5-10 mins
every time. Except now he is so obsessed he spends almost his entire
awake out of the cage time in the "penalty box" as I call it. He is
driving me INSANE! and I feel bad for him being in the little carrier
2-3 hrs (accumulated throughout the entire day) every day, but I don't
know what else to do. Someone suggested to me to spray bitter apple in
his face, but I'm not sure if that is safe (not to mention sounds a
little harsh to me.) And in case you wondered, he is not doing it
because someone is in the bedroom; we're sitting in the living room &
hear him start digging from down the hall.
Any suggestions would be GREATLY appreciated - before I lose what's
left of my mind and Danny (the digger) loses any more free time.
Thanx in advance -
