Hi Lorene:
I've had six ferrets in my lifetime (five of them are still with me now)
and it does seem like they heal remarkably well. I've had two go in for
surgery twice and they healed very quickly (although it was touch-and-go
for a couple of days with one), not to mention the assorted amount of
neuterings. They're incredible little animals.
Other stuff:
As far as the FML goes, I have a hard time getting to all the newsgroups
I want to read now, but I *never* miss an issue of the FML. Please keep
the current format.
Tailwagging: I thought I was seeing things two years ago when my then-kit
Sidney wagged his tail (he kind of flicks it back and forth like a cat).
He was the only one I had ever seen to do this.
My 3 month old just displayed his wagging ability the other day.
BTW, my husband came up with a poem for Max (the baby). It goes something
like this:
An Ode to Max
My soul - I have to bare it
Cause I have a baby ferret
You think that you could scare it
But you can't - it has no fear
His moniker is Max
He leaves his elders in their tracks
He's so hyper he breathes in hacks
And he *tries to drink my beer*
He's as cunning as a fox
He hates our human-imposed locks
And he *tries to eat my socks*
What the hell's he doing here?
But when he wants to take a nap
He may take it in my lap
I become a total sap
Let's get another kit next year!
Dave Seyler
I personally thought it was great - and typifies ferret owners: No matter
what, we always want another.
