I just took Fezzik to a new vet (who I think I'll be going to from now on!),
and he says Fezzik has colitis -- his stool has been irregular of late, and has
had mucous in it (but no blood). However, he says that Fez is "so fat and
sassy I wouldn't worry too much" and that there's really not much I can do,
anyway. He suggested trying to get Fez to eat some bran flakes each day to get
some more fibre, but Fez doesn't seem too interested in the stuff. (He also
suggested trying Tender Vittles cat treats, but I haven't tried those, yet).
Anyone have any comments, experience, or suggestions? The vet said that unless
Fez was lactose intolerant, a small amount of milk (enough to wet the bran
flakes and make them a bit more palatable) wouldn't hurt him -- but Fez just
licked the milk off, rather than eating them.
-rochelle (and a "fat and sassy ferret" -- he just put on his winter weight,
so he really does look pretty fat... and he was climbing all over me
at the vets, trying to explore the place, hence the "sassy")
