Lisa - Thank You for one of the most intelligent posts I've read about
this issue!
I sometimes think pharmacists get more education on the effects of
various substances on the body than most MDs do. My husband is also an
RPh, & I can't count the times he's had MDs call him to ask which drug
would be the best one to use for such-&-such a condition. MDs get a
few course in actual medicines - pharmacists get at least 5 (until a
couple yrs ago) or 6 (now, w/ the required PharmD degree) yrs of solid
*medicine*. Most MDs cannot tell you why a certain medication works the
way it does. Any pharmacist worth his/her salt *has* to be able to tell
you.
We joke that water is indeed bad for one's health in excessive quantities
or w/ improper usage. But, it can actually be cause *2* different deadly
conditions. One is, as you mentioned, hyperhydrosis. The other one, I
believe, is called drowning. ;-)
