My post regarding blood glucose testing was an effort to understand the
value of having the exact results because I did not know. I don't claim
to know it all.

I have also received suggestions for obtaining the blood sample that
do not involve clipping the nail-something else I was not aware of..
things I needed to know to "do it right". I have been fortunate for
the past few years to not have ferrets with insulinoma until recently.
maybe because one thing I HAVE done responsibly is give them a good
quality diet. Peanut was adrenal also. She was as old as 8 or even 9
and showing no signs of insulinoma UNTIL the screaming started the
night she passed....short of playing Frankenstein, I do everything
possible to give these kids a long healthy QUALITY of life. I came
here for information. Most people responded without accusations of
irresponsibility...thanks!

I STILL think that treating an insulinomic ferret with an improved
diet and as little steroid as possible is the way to go. Caroline 
also subscribes to this philosophy and has maintained her insulinoma
kid with no repercussion....any information I have provided is just
intended as food for thought as I feel we should minimize the use of
steroids whenever possible.
