We own nine ferrets and five of them live my husband and I. We also
own a nine month old border collie. She loves to watch the ferrets
play. She is very gentle with them. The ferrets at times tend to
nibble on her feet and on the end of her nose. We don't allow them
to be unsupervised.

Border Collies are one of the most gentlest dogs with ferrets. They
really pay attention and are completely aware of each ferret. They
really avoid the "forcefulness" that ferrets have. Being curious
animals, they approach the dog first. This sets the trend of who is
boss in our family. (The ferts ;-) )

She also trys to herd them, until they turn around and hiss at her. She
gives up and returns to her higher ground for some ferret supervision.
