Possum here: who turned up the calendar? It's going too fast! I just
did the news and now I am doing it again!!
Ernie here: Miss Possum; I would like to point out that the calendar
is going no faster than your mouth runs or your jumping and dancing in
your cage when humans are around. We have a ton of news to report so
may we please start reporting to all the humans that help take care of
us what has gone on for the month?
Possum here: Oh great! are you here again? Don't you have something
else to do? Someone else to pester? Mum that Ernie kid is here again!!
Ernie here: Miss Possum, I am going to ignore you and that question.
Mum told me I could! I am going to start the news when you are ready,
just jump in, that is if I have not completed it by then.
Possum here: Hey you stop that! You can't take over MY news!
Ernie here: I'm not taking over THE news, or YOUR so called news, I am
just starting THE news! Look at all the notes people sent to you about
letting me help with the news.
1. Possum I Don't Know Ernie But!!!! IF MUM SAYS its good you best
believe it is!!! Do You Want Gizmo For A Cub Reporter? She Is A Biker
Chick She Would Keep you Straight.. But always remember MUM KNOWS
BEST!!!!! We Love You Possum!! Tim, Cheryl, Pogo& Katman....
2. Possum, you are a great senior reporter, but you can't hog the news.
Everybody should get a chance to help tell what's important to them if
they want to.
3. Ernie, I'm glad you didn't die and that you're happy now. You will
make a great cub reporter. Donna Z.
4. Ha, ha possum...now's who pushing who round? Since u don't have me

Ernie here: Okay first off we got some new kids in last month, and
that Sebastian kid (one of the new ones) got really really sick, so
Miss Cathy R came to get him to take him to see our favorite Doc on
Thursday. He had emergency surgery that same day. Miss Donna brought
him home on Saturday with strings in his belly. He is doing better but
not great, he really is not happy here. You see, the only human he
knew threw him away, sent him here to live. He is sad, he does not
understand that our mum will love him and NOT ever throw him away. Mum
keeps telling him he can stay here for as long as he wants, or if he
finds someone to love he can go live with them. Mum is worried about
him.
Possum here: are you done with the sob story?
Ernie here: It is the truth not a sob story Miss Possum! You can jump
in any time now. Mum got this huge box in the mail; it was from the
Baker Bunch! They sent mum a whole bunch of food that she can eat! Wow
mum was so excited when she opened the box... She even war danced a
bit, but mum is not as good at war dancing as we are. Mum can't get
her kind of food around here, so our shelter friends make sure she has
plenty of good things to eat that will not make her sick. Mum says we
are blessed.
Possum here: Hey chump! Are you ready to let me tell some news?
Ernie here: Sure Miss Possum you go ahead.
Possum here: About time! Well we had new people come to see about
adopting some of us fur kids, Jackie and Jason. They camed lots of
times then mum went to their house to see how they had it set up,. See
Winkin, Blinkin and Nodd picked Jason and Jackie so mum had to make
sure they understood how much trouble they would get into. Mum went to
their house last Sunday; Mum said they aced the home visit! Then an
hour after mum got home they came to get the girls. The girls got so
excited to see Jason and Jackie. When ever they were here to visit
the girls; Winkin would lie in Jackie's arms to sleep.
Mum hurted her back real bad, so lots of shelter helpers came in to
help mum do things she could not. Mum could not even drive the big
yellow thingy for a week. She is doing a little better. She is still
slow and crocked but straighter and faster than she was. When mum was
real bad Miss Donna, Miss Cathy D. Miss Cathy R. all came to do stuffs.
Oh yeah we had boarders here too, the coco kids and the Deutsch kids
were all here for 10 whole days.
Ernie here: I would like to tell some news now Miss Possum. There are
some real important dates you humans need to put on your calendar.
June 2, 2007 is Ferret Only Clinic here at the shelter, in Naples New
York. Mum is working on notice, and sign up sheet.
June 21, 22, 23 2007 is the International Ferret Congress Symposium in
Portland Oregon. It even looks like mum is going to go!
www.ferretcongress.org if you want to go too!
Possum here: what? Mum can't go! who is going to watch us and take
care of feeding and cleaning us? Who is going to play with us? How
can mum go that far away for that long?
Ernie here: Well there you are again Possum; lost in the racket you and
that silly toy make. I heard all of it one night when mum was talking
on that thing that is attached to the wall in the shelter. She was
talking to Miss Renee'
Possum here: Chump that is called a phone, a telephone.
Ernie here: yes it is and mum even has a head set so she can keep
moving and taking care of us.
Possum here: What ever!
Ernie here: So do you want to know how mum is going to be able to go or
are you going to keep flapping them gums so you miss one more thing?
Miss Renee' told mum she just had to go to Portland, only mum told Miss
Renee' she could not be gone 12 days, it would be that long if mum was
to drive. Mum will take her store stuff see so she needed to drive it
there. So Miss Renee; Odie's mom, you know that Odie Capodie that use
to be here, said she and her friends would transport mums stuff, mum
could fly in a plane to get there. That would cut mums time to 4 days
instead of 12. Mum told Miss Renee she needed to see if she had someone
willing to take care of us, then if she could get a plane and could buy
a ticket. Miss Stephanie and Miss Kristie are going to take care of us,
so mum can go! Miss Lynne and Mr. Harry and Mr. BIG are sending mum
links to planes and prices.
Possum here: Wow! That is way cool, we love it when miss Stephanie and
miss Kristie come to help to take care of us, I guess your not such a
chump after all Ernie. I did not hear any of this stuff. You must have
a better place to hear these stuffs, than I do.
Ernie here: If that is what you want to believe Miss Possum, fine with
me. Okay mum wants to thank all the humans that shop though iGive they
sent mum a $69.00 check so that means you humans have been shopping up
a storm! Thanks you guys! Miss Sue W. called mum to tell her she had
more things for us kids, so Miss Donna and Miss Cathy D. went to Miss
Sue's house to pick up all the stuff. Then Miss Donna brought it down
to us the next day, so she and Miss Kristie could unloaded all of it
into the garage. Mum was still hurt so they would not let mum move too
much stuff. We had new people here last weekend looking for a fur kid
to go home with their fur kid Grizzly. Mr. Albert and Miss Hsin-Ying
came to spend some time with fur kids. No one wanted to play with
Grizzly but we are going to keep trying. Mum was so busy with people
in the shelter and the store that day that Miss Donna kept the shelter
going and kids moved. Man mum sure was relieved when she found the
shelter in tip top shape when everyone left. Thanks Miss Donna Mr.
Albert is coming again this weekend.
Possum here: My turn!!!!!! I want to tell more news. Do you humans know
what the word ferret means in Latin? It means "stinky thief" I don't
think that is very nice. I think that is rude! Okay we need to close
this news till next month. Ha! I got to close you didn't Chump!
