I don't know any reason to consider such a food better than any other
for ferrets.

Remember that adrenal disease in ferrets is NOT the typical steroidal
Cushings found in most mammals, but instead is hormonal, typically
hyperestrogenic.

The best thing you can do to protect your ferrets adrenals is to make
sure that they get enough hours of complete darkness each day. Aim for
about 14 hours if possible. The ones who have been neutered, especially
are sensitive to having too little darkness. (There are suggestions in
some studies and observations (including those of aplastic anemia being
more common in whole females over a year in age) to think that perhaps
female ferrets who are over a year when neutered *might* be a bit better
off than ones neutered earlier, but that is still one of the windows for
studies that will provide refinements. There is also some new human
work that points to a possible genetic flaw involving one protein being
insufficient which may set the stage for a route to vulnerability for
adrenal tumor growth, there is currently a genetic study which is looking
at causes of genetic vulnerability and more, there are treatment studies
happening now (with aspects I heard of an Supralorin/ deslorelin one
looking exciting in some ways so far), and at least one preventative
study going on.)
