Ben,
Since Kim runs a rescue/shelter, it is VERY important for her to test.
If she ends up with a possitive than she would need to close down her
rescue/shelter and close her doors.  She would be unable to take any
ferrets in or adopt any ferrets out.  ADV IS contagious as there is no
vaccine to protect our babies from contracting it, so the next best thing
is to test to make sure your ferrets are ADV FREE and not to expose
negative ferrets to this virus.
