I have been remiss in posting...I just couldn't find the wordsd....
I can't beleive we've lost one of the most wonderful women & ferret
mom's I've ever had the pleasure to know. We were email buddys for
years but only this past year became closer. One of those people that
you just connected with instantly.
I had the pleasure of meeting Reb in September even if it was just for
a little while. Recently we talked more on the phone. She was helping
me through some problems I was having...things only another rescuer
would understand. The night she passed, (before I knew she passed) the
indecisiveness about my situation disappeared. I had my answer and
proceeded as she had advised without a doubt in my mind if I was doing
the right thing. This has also been a lesson in procrastination for me.
and if you ever needed a good reason to stop procrastinating, here you
go. Several weeks ago I found this little dragon statue that I knew Reb
would just love. She always signed her emails with a quote. To this day
I dont know if it was something she wrote or from someone famous, but
it definitely applied to her personality.....as well as mine. Her
emails were always signed "Meddle Not in the Affairs of Dragons, For
Thou Art Crunchy and Taste Good With Ketchup."
That humorous quote is what brought us together, -- that and the fact
that she ran a ferret shelter too. I put off shipping the little statue
thinking that I'd get to it "tomorrow". Last week I finally sent it to
her waiting anxiously for her to receive it. I knew shed get a charge
out of it.
Tuesday night on my way home from work, Kat called and informed me that
Reb passed from heart failure in her sleep Monday night. My package
arrived Tuesday morning, her husband Larry told me Tuesday night it was
sitting on top of the refrigerator ......un-opened... she never got the
present I bought her. Somehow, I know she is aware
We & the ferrets have lost one of the best.
