I realize this is probably an odd idea to post on the mailing list, but
I wonder if there are any shelters in the Northern Virginia metro area
that may need or want an assistant or someone to help them?

I recently lost my last ferret, Mojo, who was 10 years old. She was
the last of 6 ferrets I've had over the last 14 years.

The thing about my request here is that I've worked in admin.,
contracting and such a variety of positions in my last job, but I don't
have medical admin. experience. But I KNOW I CAN BE A GREAT ASSET to
any shelter or office.

I've taken care of ferrets - and other pets - for so long, that I've
found that I really want to pursue this route, knowing my own love for
animals of any kind. And it wouldn't bother me to 'start over', per
se in a new career that I know would benefit so many little furries.

I've never written an "ad" for myself, but I believe this is a good place
to start for information on where to look - or let others know that I'm
very interested in this. I'm not asking for a quick easy job - that's
not what I want. I do want to move in a direction that I'm happy with,
and where I know I'd be a good addition helping out in shelters and such.

If anyone can let me know, I'd really appreciate it.

Thanks to everyone who wrote me about my Mojo crossing over. And I thank
anyone who can give me any information on how I can become involved and
be a real help.

Jeanette
