I sent out the below email about a week ago to All of the shelters that
we have email addresses for on the AFA Shelter listing.  I received a
lot of bounce-backs from addresses that had since been changed or
removed.  I implore you, if you are listed on the AFA Shelter listing or
if you would like to be listed on the AFA Shelter listing please follow
the instructions below.  Volunteers!  Please also look for the shelters
in your area and notify your directors of this email.  We have a lot of
shelters out there that haven't updated their information in a while, if
we have neither a good email address or phone number the shelter gets
removed from the list, which we hate to do.  So Please take a moment of
your time and check your listings.

Hi this is Samantha from the AFA Shelter Committee.  AFA's website had a
change in software and it affected the AFA Shelter list.  Since we pride
ourselves in keeping the list accurate, we wanted to ask you to look at
your listing and if there are any changes please let us know.  There is
a place to click on the website for updates.  We apologize for this
inconvenience.  The website is

There is a link at the top of the page that says send an email which will
open up an email so that you may send your changes directly to the AFA.
Please send your changes to this email as well as my email address so
that we may have an alternate copy to ensure all corrections are made
properly.  If you have verified your listing and it is correct there is
no further action needed and you may simply delete this message.
 
Also if you know of a shelters listing that is not correct or if they
are no longer a shelter please have that shelter notify us directly.
We cannot accept changes from an alternate source, we can only accept
changes or deletions from the shelter directors themselves.
