I routinely download email to my hard drive so I can read it later during
moments of free time. Unfortunately, I recently killed my hard drive and
lost all past email. I can only blame myself.
I had been holding off from accepting requests for talks because I wanted
to be sure I could speak without pain or difficulty. I preferred holding
off until I was sure rather than accepting an invitation and having to
cancel. The upshot is that I lost those speaking requests with the hard
drive failure.
I am now confident that my vocal cords have fully recovered from their
little excursion into the twilight zone, and thanks to a wonderful voice
therapist, I can now sing like Barry White. Well, almost; I still can't
carry a tune, so I sound like Barry White if he were tone-deaf. well,
tone deak with laser-burned vocal cords.
If you asked me to talk and it is not too late, please ask again. The
only groups I think that are expecting me are the Toronto symposium, the
Netherlands symposium, and the Buckeye Bash. I recall being asked by at
least a dozen other groups, but --as I have already stated-- I held off
answering until I knew I could keep my promise.
