For what it's worth, my $0.02...
My ferrets have never been interested in raw food, which I am grateful
for because I don't know that I could stomach feeding them anything
live or recently-live. I know it happens in the wild, but mine were
raised on a farm and have never been anything other than domesticated.
I think that requires some consideration when deciding upon a "correct"
diet.
They seem fine with their kibble, and I give them supplements and try
to make sure they're eating the best kibble available. I think that's
all as a ferret parent that I can do.
The original post on this topic irked me a bit because it seemed (to
me) to include a judgement on people who feed their ferrets kibble...
I'm not saying it shouldn't have been posted (first amendment?) but I
think we all might try re-reading our posts before we send them, to
check for anything that might be a bit too strong. Think "I believe"
instead of "This is right". The toughest thing about having a debate on
the internet is the inability to express tone of voice, and the
frequency with which things are misunderstood and overanalyzed.
Best,
-Melissa
