I am apauled quite honestly at your lack of compassion. I remember
exactly one time in the so many years that Jean has asked for help
financially. I believe that was when she was in danger of losing her
home (aka the shelter). Other than the above mentioned time Jean has
only posted asking for idea's or help with a established idea (aka:
squiddo lens) etc. and asking for the masses on the FML to remember
that shelters need help year around. If you construe this as "begging"
quite often for money then you need to re-read past issues of the FML.
She has stated her dream of raising money to build a self standing
shelter as she asked for help in coming up with ideas on how to raise
that money. She's stated that donations have been few and far between
so please help the shelters in your area etc. I've never seen her ask
for help for her personal shelter on more than that.
Again, Im saddened by your lack of compassion. Athough Im not
surprised. Some choose to bring about the negative only to hurt what
the orignator was trying to accomplish. Yes, hopefully it brought about
other shelters willing to help Jean. But in that quest, the main thing
you have acomplished is driving a wonderful shelter operator away from
the help she needs because she feels attack and unrightously so.
It will be a wonderful day in ferret land when individual shelters are
reconized by state and local governments so they can get funding to
vet, live and care for their charges as Animal Controls and Humane
Societies around the globe. But until that day, the ferret shelter
operators around the globe need our hearts to be as theirs... open,
giving and supportive.
They don't bash the dumpers of the many ferrets in their care.. well
at least not to the dumpies face, those that turn in sick kids needing
immediate care, surgeries, a warm bed and love. Now is not the time
for "how could you's" and "I told you so's" now's the time to step upto
bat and help those who provide those loving temporary homes for those
little creatures we love so much. Priorities here are what are
important, please remember that.
