I recently ordered a Ferret Nation cage from TheFerretStore.com.
The cage actually arrived quicker than I had expected. However, we
immediately began putting the cage together as I was going to be using
the base level as a birthing cage and wanted to get my jill set up as
quickly as possible. We didn't get too far in the process before
noticing that none of the connectors were included in the packaging.
We also noticed that all of the parts were open. We actually had the
screws/nuts/bolts/etc. thrown all over the inside of the box with no
bag to keep them confined. I called TheFerretStore the next day and
they immediately called Midwest (manufacturers of the Ferret Nation cage)
who said that they would UPS 3 day the connectors. I did received the
connectors in the time frame, which was nice, but when we continued on
with the process and were near completion, the bottom pan was entirely
too big for the base of the cage. We actually had to repeatedly cut
down the edges to make it fit in the cage, which took hours. It was
a tedious task and one that was entirely unnecessary. I again called
TheFerretStore the next day to tell them of the situation and they
once again called Midwest. I received a prompt phone call back from
TheFerretStore telling me that Midwest was aware of the situation of the
bigger pans, but failed to mention it to their customers.

Although, I am very happy with the customer service that I received at
TheFerretStore, I was more than disappointed with Midwest's lack of
attention to their product. Now that the cage is set up, I'm a bit
disappointed in the lack of shelves/ramps/levels. It's really more of a
one dimensional cage that works best for nursing or sick ferrets, but one
that I wouldn't recommend for a gaggle of ferrets unless you are getting
the 3 level stand that they can run and romp through the various levels.
Even though one of their big advertisements is the fact that they have
hanging spots for the hammocks, the spots are only located on the
underside of the one half level, which is usually where one would put
the litter box. The cage is fairly deep and it makes hanging hammocks
from side to side a bit of a task, unless you place numerous shower hooks
to extend the hammocks. On a positive note, the cage seems sturdy and
very easy to clean and you actually have access to the entire cage for
cleaning, hanging hammocks, etc. which is an extremely nice feature.
