I read an article in Ferrets magazine May/June 2006 issue.  Well, it
wasn't actually an article, it was a letter sent in to the Mailbag.  This
is what the article says,
"Many ferret groups have ferret shelter owners as members.  Find out the
ones in your group, or just ones you know of, and have everyone send one
shelter a few dollars, the next month send a few to a different shelter -
make the commitment like your monthly bills.  One shelter per month gets
a donation.  Ask the shelters for their snail mail addresses as well as
Pay Pal account information so everyone can send them a few dollars each
month.  If people did this, many shelters would not be closing."
