It is NOT clear how long the rabies vax effect lasts in ferrets, so the
three year law could fall apart on legal challenge, which hopefully will
not happen after a biting incident.  If that happens then a ferret will
die, and that usually is needlessly because the cases of rabies infection
in ferrets are so very rare, but the freaky people who assume they are
common are not rare.
