Welp, I live in Galveston -- two blocks off of the seawall. Hubby and
I will be leaving the island this afternoon with our four cats, three
ferrets, and assorted items I am trying to find room for in our little
car. We are going to his grandmother's place in a town near the Big
Piney Woods north of Houston about two hours. The place we are going is
on high ground, and I think the biggest problem there will be high winds
knocking out the power. We're taking propane & lantern & stove with us,
in addition to flashlights & extra batteries. I think we'll be fine.
So...everyone keep good thoughts, and pray for any who will remain here
on the island. I'll check in when I can. :)
In all of this nonsense surrounding us, I worry about the poor feral
kitties that live around our house. :( There's nothing I can do for
them, though -- I haven't even seen them in days.
~Eri, hubby, the Toobsock Trio (Indy, Pixie, & Tucker), and the four
feline demi-god(desse)s -- Felix, Fiona, Roxanne, and Eowyn
