Pandora had emergency surgery for a blockage today. The blockage was
from a tumor. The gall bladder, too, was encompassed in small grape
sized tumors of the lymph nodes. The vet felt it was best not to wake
her up from the surgery. She'd been under the weather for 2 weeks.
Jaundice began about 1 week ago as did straining to eliminate and
urinate. She was so stoic, but I know she was in pain at the end.

Pandora was an independent soul. She needed no one and tolerated few.
I am proud to have been her mom for 5 years. She came to teach me many
things. She taught me tolerance, patience, and how to love a free spirit
completely. She taught me that often love isn't worshipful adoration,
but forbearance and the ability to appreciate someone in spite of their
rough edges. I think, most of all, she came to teach me humility. She
humbled me many times. And she was, indeed, humble for the past 2 weeks.
She did everything I asked, including eating when I asked thought it must
have been hurting her. She allowed 2 injections per day for 10 days,
though her scruff was swollen. She allowed me to put drops into her eyes
and nostrils 3 times a day- even though she HATED it. She became the
kissy, cuddly ferret I didn't think she ever would. I am sick at the
loss of her. She did love me, and I, her. I miss her defiant energy
so much.

Run freely again my tomboy girl-child. Rest well my little teacher! I
will always love you, Pandyorrs!!!
