Happy to pass on our experience at FACT over the years with ferret
nicotine withdrawal (including that of our personal ferrets when I
finally quit over 12 years ago).

Worst we have seen happen with ferrets of any age is that they get a bit
testy for a couple of days. Most show no effect (other than probable [in
my mind anyway!] relief that they can breathe!). We actually have had
some who came in from smokers who complained the ferrets were nippers or
biters. And sure enough, SURPRISE!! they STOPPED nipping/biting when
they weren't being picked up by someone with nicotine residue on their
fingers. :)

Nicotine withdrawal passes fairly quickly even in humans. The worst part
is psychological. And unless you spot her chewing her nails :) I'd not
put her on any nicotine substitute or tobacco of ANY kind. It's toxic
stuff and not meant to be ingested.

Good luck with her and glad she's found a nice, new, smokeless home!
