Hi everyone, I saw this statement, and I have to correct it. I dont want
the wrong info out there regarding our little fuzzies.
Even though ferrets are carnivores, they can still be someone else's
prey. Ferrets run, jump, play, give chase..etc... and that is what kicks
in the prey drive in an animal. Prey drive is an instinct that they are
born with, you cannot train it out of them.
If the puppy has prey drive, I simply would never trust him with a
ferret. You can train and train him, but if he has that prey drive...
he may be "ok" with the ferret, but all it takes is one particular move
from the ferret, and boom, that instinct kicks in in the dog. Please
dont let it happen.
