I made a free-standing water bottle at one time. I used the heaviest
gauge of wire that I could bend to make a sort of three-legged cradle for
the bottle, and then made loops at the ends of the legs so that I could
screw the cradle to a piece of wood. It looked a bit like a lunar lander
:) I also filed down the cut ends of the wire so that if rambuctious play
happened in the area of the water bottle, nobody would get cut by sharp
edges.

I was renting at the time (and still am, sigh) but if you are in a
position where you can drill holes in your walls, making a vertical
cradle that attaches to the wall (or to a board that is then attached
to the wall) might be the way to go.

"Is that my business? Well, what is my business? Do I know? Did I ever
know? Let's not go into that. You're not human tonight, Marlowe. Maybe
I never was or ever will be... Maybe we all get like this in the cold
half-lit world where always the wrong thing happens and never the right."
