OK, can anyone out there help me. I'm getting thoroughly
confused as to the legality of ferrets in California.
I had thought that even owning them was illegal, but have
been told by questionable sources (read that as co-workers)
than you just can't purchase carpet sharks in LA LA Land,
but that you can own them. Someone's said purchasing
them in Nevada and bringing them in was valid.
[From what I understand (not being able to put my hands on a copy
of Ca Ag legislation), ferrets are *totally* illegal in Ca. The story
(was it from someone on the mailing list?) was that someone had their
ferret confiscated after moving to Ca from Oregon]
This sounds awfully cloak and dagger to me, more like
dealing in drugs than small furry critters.
Also, is there any organization to write to / elected
official type (whatever) to lobby for ferret rights in
California?
[Maybe the group that had the Ferret Frolic on the West Coast could
help. Anybody got their address?]
