Aunty Renee Downs had a fantastic idea of celebrating American
Thanksgiving in Toronto. Mommie decided to take her up on the offer.
Sadly, due to the bad snow storm in the USA, aunty Renee wasn't able to
make it up to Canada, but aunty Leanne from south Boston was :) Auntie
Leanne came all the way up from Massachusetts to help our shelter with
the Good Girls Tickle Their Fuzzies calendar :)

Since Auntie Renee couldn't come up, mommie called auntie Leanne and told
her not to rent a hotel and to stay with her. There was a pause on the
phone. Auntie Leanne tolds mommie that no, she had already paid for her
hotel and she should stay there. Later on, after meeting mommie, auntie
Leanne tolds mommie that she was worried mommie was an older lady who
was straight laced, prim and proper and auntie Leanne was worried that
she would be too wild for mommie lol! After meeting mommie with her
outrageous magenta hair, tattoos and vodka drinking, auntie Leanne
wished she did stay with mommie lol!!!

Our "Thanksgiving" meal was cooked by mommie's friend uncle John and he
made nothing traditional at all :) they had asparagus risotto, yummie
salad, scallop potato and for the fish eaters, cranberry shrimp and for
the poultry eaters, cranberry chicken!

After dinner, auntie Jenn set up the lights and auntie Marina got into
her evening dress and started baking an apple/ferret pie for the camera
with Kelso and Riker. The boys HATED the smell of the apples, i guess
that's why the hoomans use the Bitter Apple spray to make us stay away
from stuff! There were apples flying EVERYWHERE lol! They used a lot
of Tone but it didn't work too well. In the end, they still got some
really good photos for the calendar.

Auntie Leanne's photo shoot was Saturday night. She looked sooo
beautiful! Dressed as a Hawaiian girl, she, along with Elvis, Rolo and
Tonka sat on the beech. Rolo tried to get his nose into her raspberry
margarita a few times but she kept telling him he was too young to drink
and she didn't want to end up in jail in Canada for contributing to
minor!!! Elvis thought it would be funny to nibble at auntie Leanne's
belly ring and Tonka decided it would be fun to run off with the plastic
fishes. The girls all had fun before heading off to a local Irish pub
for the evening.

The shelter has been super busy the last few weeks too. All the ferts
were blood tested for ADV last weekend. Dr. Regan came over and
vaccinated all the new kids and took blood to send to the U of Guelph.
The test results came back - all negative! We have a whole slew of new
kids at the shelter. Guido, needs adrenal surgery, Kelso, needs neuter
and probably insulinoma, Tonka, just 4 months old, Greggor, walks funny
and 2 1/2 years old, Riker and Fitz are back from foster and have tested
negative for ADV but Riker has a HUGE belly and is going in for an
ultrasound this week and so is Bobbie for her heart condition. Connor
and Pandora will also be coming back from foster this week as their
foster parents are leaving the country and they need to come back to
the shelter.

On a great note, as a result of our eBay auctions promoting our ferrets
to sponsor, Pumpkin and Coconut were adopted this week! Thank you to
everyone that participated! You all ROCK!

My love to you all, Harley "Bug"
