Tonight I received the following message from the Houston ferret
shelter - Vicki Montgomery and Tricks and Treats Ferrets Rescue.
A big thank you to Rick and Candi White of S.A.F.E. for their sheltering
of Vicki and company.
I wanted to share the news with everyone that they did make it to safety.
Now, we need to say a prayer for those that may not have made it out of
the path of Rita.
-------- Original Message --------
Hi Danee;
We, my daughter, her fiance, his daughter and one of her twins and I,
left Houston this morning around 11:36 and made it to San Antonio by 4PM.
Because we waited so long to leave we did not encounter the 14-24 hours
sitting in gridlock traffic on the freeways.
31 ferrets are safely tucked into cages with cozy hammocks and food and
water. My dogs are tucked away in the back yard and 2 cats tucked away
in carriers in the living room. All in all we have been treated with all
the love and warmth that we all have come to know is purely Rick and
Candi...
Because you are my POC I have not notified anyone else yet that we are
here and all is well. Would you let everyone know for me. And as this
storm picks her path I will pray for everyone in Texas to stay dry and
safe.
Vicki
