Oh yes, ferrets can and do pass gas, sometimes quite loudly.  Our worst
culprit for this was a very tiny female ferret by the name of Tigger.
She barely weighed in at a pound.  It always amazed me that such a tiny
creature could break wind so loudly.  Whenever, she would start, I'd look
at my husband and say, "Yep, she's your ferret all right."  Let's just
say he also has a bit of reputation in that regard.
