>rather a privately breed ferret . I don't see a problem there but I do
>owever, see problems with breeders of a certain well known organization
>who are overbreeding and who have produced some pretty nasty ferrets

Let's not turn this into another bash an organization without naming
names post. If you have facts to back up anything you post, please
post them or stop wasting everyone's time.

>that have been nick named names such as "bloodletter".

Perhaps you may be talking about me, as I affectionately call one of my
girls "the ferret formerly known as bloodletter". It's kind of a joke
and if you heard it and were that concerned, you should have asked me
about it instead of just eavesdropping :)

In this litter there were 3 jills (the boys were fine) and they had what
I consider "difficult" temperments, my jill being the worst. Once the
girls hit 6 months and were spayed, the other two were perfectly fine and
while she's not perfect, mine definitely got better. She has always been
fine at shows with the judges and like the rest of my ferrets, I don't
let anyone handle them but me.

All the ferrets in that litter were wanted very much and all went out
on pet contracts (as do all my kits). I spayed my jill because her
temperment is not something I want to duplicate.

>These ferrets should not be brought out to any public event let alone a
>show. What if my 3 year old child stuck it's finger in that ferret's
>cage, would that breeder pay for my child's medical?

Regardless of that, why is your child going around sticking their fingers
in the cage of a strange animal? ANY animal can nip/bite a small wiggly
thing coming through the cage at them - they think it's a toy.

Many ferret shows used to have signs for the exhibitors to put on their
cages saying things like "please don't feed your fingers to my ferrets".
I personally cover my cages with a dark sheet and most of the time have
a table to put them behind to keep people who don't know better from
bugging my ferrets.

>problems will continue. Now i have also seen the same breeder the other
>person talked about th row the ferret to the ground because it bit.

If there were this many witnesses why did you guys not do anything?
Geez, doing nothing is just as bad as being a party to it.

>this organization a long time ago and don't intend on returning. I have
>better thing s to do but if anyone sees someone doing what was done to
>that poor ferret, make a complaint or tell someone, but don't let it be
>thinking they are a higher achry and no one would listen.

Exactly - if there is a problem, report them. Don't just stand there and
do nothing and then complain about it later.
